由于工业化的进展,已经开发出了几种化学物质,其中内分泌干扰物(EDC;对塑料生产至关重要)作为塑化剂和阻燃剂而被使用。塑料因其提供便利成为现代生活中必不可少的元素,因此增加了人类暴露于EDCs的程度。EDCs破坏内分泌系统导致产生不良反应,如生殖功能退化、癌症和神经系统异常,因此被归类为“危险物质”。此外,它们对各种器官有毒性,但仍在使用中。因此,有必要审查EDCs的污染情况,选择潜在的有害物质进行管理,并监测安全标准。此外,有必要发现可以保护人体免受EDC毒性影响的物质,并对这些物质的保护效果进行积极研究。根据最近的研究,韩国红参(KRG)对由EDCs引起的几种毒性表现出保护作用。本文综述了EDCs对人体的影响以及KRG在保护人体免受EDC毒性影响方面的作用。© 2022年韩国人参学会。由Elsevier B.V.提供出版服务。
Several chemicals have been developed owing to the progression of industrialization, among which endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs; essential for plastic production) are used as plasticizers and flame retardants. Plastics have become an essential element in modern life because they provide convenience, thus increasing EDCs exposure to humans. EDCs cause adverse effects such as deterioration of reproductive function, cancer, and neurological abnormalities by disrupting the endocrine system and hence are classified as "dangerous substances." Additionally, they are toxic to various organs but continue to be used. Therefore, it is necessary to review the contamination status of EDCs, select potentially hazardous substances for management, and monitor the safety standards. In addition, it is necessary to discover substances that can protect against EDC toxicity and conduct active research on the protective effects of these substances. According to recent research, Korean Red Ginseng (KRG) exhibits protective effects against several toxicities caused by EDCs to humans. In this review, the effects of EDCs on the human body and the role of KRG in protection against EDC toxicity are discussed.© 2022 The Korean Society of Ginseng. Publishing services by Elsevier B.V.
