溃疡性结肠炎(UC)是一种炎症性肠道疾病,通常以肠道的慢性、持续、反复和非特异性溃疡为特点。其主要临床表现包括腹痛、腹泻和带血便。这种疾病难以治愈,甚至有致癌风险。世界卫生组织已将其列为现代难治性疾病。虽然有大量药物可用于抑制UC,但常规治疗如氨基水杨酸、糖皮质激素、免疫抑制剂和生物制剂具有一定限制和严重副作用。因此,迫切需要安全有效的UC药物,天然来源的黄酮类和黄烷类化合物表现出巨大的潜力。本研究集中讨论了过去20年中食用和药用植物中天然来源的黄酮类和黄烷类化合物在UC疗法方面的进展。天然来源的黄酮类和黄烷类物质对UC的潜在药理作用与肠道微生物组的调节、肠道屏障功能、炎症反应、氧化应激和细胞凋亡密切相关。天然黄酮类和黄烷类化合物的优异疗效和安全性使其成为UC抑制的潜在药物候选者。版权所有©2023李,唐,叶,祖和卢。
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is an inflammatory bowel disease generally characterized by chronic, persistent, recurrent, and non-specific ulcers of the intestine. Its main clinical manifestations include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and bloody stools. This disease is difficult to cure and even carries the risk of canceration. It has been listed as a modern refractory disease by the World Health Organization. Though a large amount of drugs are available for the inhibition of UC, the conventional treatment such as aminosalicylic acids, glucocorticoids, immunosuppressors, and biological agents possess certain limitations and serious side effects. Therefore, it is urgently needed for safe and effective drugs of UC, and natural-derived flavonols and flavanones showed tremendous potential. The present study concentrated on the progress of natural-derived flavonols and flavanones from edible and pharmaceutical plants for the remedy of UC over the last two decades. The potential pharmaceutical of natural-derived flavonols and flavanones against UC were closely connected with the modulation of gut microflora, gut barrier function, inflammatory reactions, oxidative stress, and apoptosis. The excellent efficacy and safety of natural flavonols and flavanones make them prospective drug candidates for UC suppression.Copyright © 2023 Li, Tang, Ye, Zuo and Lu.
